Framed

Our challenge for Assembly Line Boot Camp is "Framed". This is a very simple challenge in which we have to frame some part of our artwork. It can even be a mat under a picture or on a card, so this one is easy.

I spent some time this week also putting away some kits in my filing system, and using the paper as a consequence of this exercise.   First up is Birds of a Feather  2009. I used simple elements from the Greeting to Go collection to put together a simple card.

Next I found the Paisley kit from 2006. There are some die cuts that were in the kit that made perfect frames.

I may still get more work done over the weekend which will be added at that time.

Stencils

Week 5 of Assembly Line Boot Camp is Stencils. This is always my least favorite week, and it is no different this time. I waited until the last minute to try to create something for the challenge. But I did try a new technique this time and I was pleased with the results.

First I went with the latest Club Scrap kit for March 2014 Trees. Pretty colors and a great leaf charm that I used for a stencil.

Next I used this beautiful mask from the Tribal kit August 2013.  On the card I used my new Spritzer and Tim Holtz Distress Markers to stencil this beautiful design with several colors.

This card uses the stencil from the Take Wing kit September 2013. I used ink direct to paper, simple and easy technique.

Next week our challenge is Frames. Now this one I can look forward to!

Petals and Die Cuts

Oops...missed a week so I will include last week in this post.

Our Club Scrap Assembly Line Boot Camp Challenge for Week 4 is "Petals". This makes me happy because I love to include flowers on my cards.  I also found some great floral papers and images to incorporate in the challenge.

I pulled out the Blossom kit from 2010. The beautiful paper and die cut were both perfect for this challenge. I also used background stamps from the kit, and since I tend to sort out my ribbons and embellishments, they are from my "stash".

I chose the chalkboard black cardstock from the Graffiti kit January 2014 and the large stamp from the Take Wing kit September 2013. The tiny stamp from my stash says "Happy Mothers Day". And the ribbon and flower/brad combo really made this a stunning card.

I went back to the Natures Wonders kit from 2006 and found this textured floral paper. It does not show well in the pictures but it has a very nice feel and look to it. The die cuts are also from the kit.

Speaking of Die Cuts, these were my entries for last week's Challenge. Papers and die cuts all came from Solstice 2009.

I have spent some time with my room organization this week, a topic I will discuss at more length in the future. Let's just say, after putting stuff away, I am too tired to create!  But I will be ready for next week's challenge.
